Research Interests

My general interest is in evolutionary genetics. My work focuses on the evolution of plant breeding systems and its consequences on the genetic structure of natural populations, with a special interest on gynodioecy (hermaphrodite and female flowers on separate individuals). My experimental work includes studies on genetic diversity of nuclear and cytoplasmic molecular polymorphisms (chloroplast and mitochondrial DNA) in natural populations of plants whose female frequency vary. I have also a special interest in the analysis of spatial variation of genetic diversity.

I am also involved in the study of crop wild interactions, and especially in the evaluation of gene flow between crop and their wild relatives and its consequences on weediness and escape of trangenes.
